Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Alex Perez-Rulfo and I am the proud owner and principal designer of Hacienda Design Studio. With a background in healthcare and a passion for design and minimalism, I bring a unique perspective to creating beautiful and functional residential interiors.
As a Southern California native, I have always been drawn to the art of design and the power it holds in shaping our surroundings and impacting our well-being. Growing up with a father who was a general contractor, I learned about the importance of functionality in a space at a young age. I always dreamed of a career that would allow me to bring my creative vision to life, and that dream became a reality when I transitioned from my career as a nurse to pursue my true passion: interior design.
With over ten years of experience in healthcare, I understand the connection between our environment and well-being. I saw firsthand the positive impact that a well-designed space can have on a person's health and happiness, and I wanted to bring that same impact to others. That's why I went back to school to specialize in interior design and embarked on a journey to create homes that nurture and inspire.
At the peak of my nursing career, I yearned for a sanctuary to recharge after a long day at work. I was tired of feeling like my home was just an extension of my job, and I wanted a space that would allow me to let go and breathe. So, I leaned into two passions: a love for "less" and a lifelong fascination for design, and I transformed my home into a haven of peace and inspiration. The results were life-changing, and now I'm passionate about helping others achieve the same transformation in their homes.
When I'm not working on my latest design project, you'll likely find me exploring the world of design with my other half, who graciously supports my constant design changes. I also now have the privilege of working with my dad, a proud supporter of my design business. Together, we bring a unique combination of design and construction expertise to every project, ensuring that each space we create is beautiful, functional, and well-constructed.
